I’m listening to a youtube video (it’s audio) that was recorded in early 2008. The speaker is quite excited on how “Now” is the time for social media. So far she has said nothing new, (or would that be old?) as she is just bringing up branding, positive thinking and subscribe to her coaching.
How many of you are still using Twitter or Facebook? Did you even start? How many internet portals do you use to do business?
Applications may come and go, but using the internet is here to stay. Anytime you go to the store, think about a movie, song or quote, the internet is your best friend. I often check store inventory online before shopping. I use Google Shopper to compare prices and availability (in general) of products.
I’ve adapted a Android Smart Phone and I never leave home without it. Now I have the internet and social networking with me on the go. I don’t have to use it, but I have it when I need it.
I don’t think social media is dead or even fading, but it’s use may be changing. Two trends are bringing Social Media to a new stage and those are Smart Phones and Geo-location applications. The other day when checking in on 4square I noticed a special for Chili’s restaurant just for 4square users.
Yes there is still overload or overwhelm but use of social media apps can be a great communication help.
